After some years with focus on other things, we decided to buy a boat that fits the family better. This has to serve more purposes than just trolling, and it should require any maintenance if we do not use it. So we decided to go for something relatively small and versatile to put on a trailer. So we found a relatively new (21 engine hours) Finnmaster 5300BR, which is more a bowrider than a dedicated trolling boat. But after 20+ years of trolling, I think I am entitled to a compromise;-)
So far only rod holders have been installed, I am looking for a some minimalistic solution for downriggers. If you have any ideas, please let me know. The boat comes with a factory installed Yamaha 100, which works perfectly from trolling speed up. We are living in northern Zealand in Denmark, which makes the Sound, Baltic and Kattegat the first choices. If you ever need to connect Yamaha and Garmin on a NMEA 2000 network, and you wonder what is the correct way, give me a shout.
